The Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge encourages children and students from birth to Year 10 to read a set number of books over the year and record their efforts online.
Since the Challenge first began in 2005, more than 3 million students have read nearly 50 million books.
01 March to 06 September 2023
A new addition to this years Challenge and the new website. When you log a book as finished it will prompt you to write a review. You are required to write a 50 word (4 to 5 sentences) book review before your book will be verified.
Type your book review into a Google Doc and you can word count it to make sure that you get the 50 words. When you have finished your book, click FINISHED and then copy and paste your book review into the dialog box.
Each of the books that you read for Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge needs to have a book review added so that Sion LRC staff can authenticate your reading.
Ask yourself:
Example of a Book Review
Whisper by Lynette Noni was such a good read because it was a mystery and also a supernatural book. I loved the way the main character’s quest was slowly revealed and once I understood the mystery, I couldn’t put down the book. The Supernatural part of the book was unique because I haven’t read anything like that before. You must also read book 2 ‘Weapon’, because it is just as good. (71 words)
All Community Spirit points will be issued at the end of the Challenge.
Year 7 - 9 (15 books)
Year 10 (15 books)
