VPRC at Sion

  • The Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge encourages up to Year 10 to read a set number of books over the year and record their efforts online.
  • Since the Challenge first began in 2005, more than 3 million students have read nearly 50 million books.
  • The Reading Challenge starts March 1st and ends 1st September.
  • To complete the challenge: Year 7 - 9 (15 books) 10 from Challenge list 5 choice Year 10 (15 books) 5 from Challenge list 10 choice.
  • If you have any questions pop into the library and speak to Ms Mandile or Ms Lawson
  • Students finishing the challenge, reading 15 books will be awarded a Community Spirit Point.
  • Students who submit a 150 review for their books on the Library Access-IT System can gain another Community Spirit Point.
  • The student who has read the most books in each year level wins a $50 Dymocks Voucher and "Top Reader" Certificate.
  • The Top Reviewer will receive a $50 book voucher. This will be for the best review submitted on the Library Access-IT System.
  • The English classes at each year level that completed the most Challenges will be treated to a morning tea and each student who has completed the challenge will be given another Community Spirit Point.

Review books

To gain extra community spirit points you can write a review on our library catalogue page about the book you have finished!

Complete 150 book review to earn a community spirit point. You can write a review for every book you read!

In the review include

  • A little bit about the book (no spoilers!)
  • Why you liked the book
  • Why someone else would like to read the book and why (eg. If you liked Percy Jackson you will like this book...).
