Wider Reading Program: Home

Every two weeks the LRC works with the English teachers to have a reading class where students (7-9) come in to the library and we help find the right book for everyone!

Year 7s use journaling to help unpack what they are reading and further develop their analytical skills. In each class we present tailored options to help inspire and encourage reading for enjoyment, which is proven to have a positive link to academic achievements.

So, some of you may hate reading!

There are so many reasons why you should and do need to read!

1. Increases your intelligence.
2. Increases your brain power.
3. It can make you better at understanding other people and creatures.
4. It can help you understand what you are reading.
5. Could help you not develop Alzheimer's Disease.
6. Reduces stress - studies show up to 68%.
